I did a lot of research when looking into a photographer for our elopement/honeymoon photoshoot and I am so happy I chose Coo to capture this milestone! My experience with Coo was unbelievable. I had a surprise proposal and he made it extremely special by capturing the moment perfectly. My photoshoot location was at Mt. Fuji and he knew everywhere we should go for the best photo shots and had a rental car to take us to other locations around the area. I will also mention he has a background in weather forecasting so he is able to help predict the absolute best time to take photos so there are no clouds in the sky, etc. As we were taking photos, he would show us a few and just by seeing on the back of the camera, it was obvious how talented he was. I never thought I would get the opportunity for professional photos in Japan and I am glad that my partner found Coo. He was easy to talk to and he made the photoshoot fun because he was engaging in conversation and extremely kind to us. By the end, Coo was our friend! We have nothing but positive things to say about Coo. His communication was on point. Days before our session he sent a message to welcome us to Japan, confirm our session date/time, and also sent a list of recommended places to eat and visit. The evening before, Coo sent another message to prepare us for the weather forecast. It was very helpful as there was a possibility of a light drizzle. If we needed an umbrella he also suggested where to purchase one. The morning off, he arrived early and sent us a picture of himself and the exact location he was waiting for us. It made it so easy and stress-free. His ability to speak English was very helpful. He was very kind and great with our young kids. Coo gave us great directions on what to do for our photos as Shibuya crossing can be tricky to photograph in the middle of traffic. He was very easy going and asked us if we wanted any particular shots or combinations of family members. He took his time and we never felt rushed. He made sure we were happy with all the shots before we ended. We had a lot of fun and felt relaxed. The pictures were edited and sent to us in record time. Coo was so quick! My wife booked family photos for us at Shibuya crossing. We opted for a 7am session so that we can avoid the crowds. Although it was early in the morning with three young kids, everything worked out great. Coo communicated with us days before our meeting and reassured us that we were all set. He even provided us with great local recommendations for places to visit and eat at. The evening before he even helped us check the weather and prepared us for possible rain. We were very thankful as we came prepared with umbrellas. Photos that early in the morning can be hit or miss with three young ones that were still jet lagged but Coo’s kind and relaxed personality made it for a perfect experience. I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to share my amazing experience working with Coo while I was in Japan. I needed a photographer to work with as part of a surprise proposal and found Coo through Instagram. I was quite nervous about working with someone who I had never met and also lived in a completely different country but Coo made the process very simple. Throughout my experience Coo was very patient and extremely responsive and answered all of my questions thoroughly. He also provided great feedback which helped me plan the perfect proposal. Without his guidance I likely would have chosen a spot and time where there were excessive crowds or bad lighting. When the special day came Coo was there waiting for my girlfriend and I at our chosen location and made the entire experience so easy. Everything went just as planned and my girlfriend (now fiance) could not be happier with the photos or the experience. He took us to picturesque spots around the forest to capture romantic shots. He gave us little direction, which helped us act naturally and capture the candid moments we love. My bf booked Coo as a “Surprise proposal” in Kyoto! Bf told me we wanted to take me to this beautiful location that’s not on my itinerary for photos and views. When we got there, Coo offered to take photos for us, if we like it we can pay him and if not, it’ll be free. I agreed, we took some photos and my boyfriend proposed! And Coo started taking candid photos of us and I then knew what was happening! After the proposal, Coo took us to many beautiful locations for a 90mins photo session. My bf had shown him similar locations of what I had in mode for an engagement photoshoot and Coo knew exactly where to take us! (Walking distance too!) he was very friendly and made us feel extremely comfortable! He spoke English and even gave us suggestions on poses and knows to take my good side! Coo has a very artistic eye, friendly and gave good direction on poses. Knowledgeable on where to get the best views/shots in the area. We were able to communicate through the What’s app messaging prior to the shoot. Asking me how I planned on proposing to my partner and I got to learn a bit more about Coo prior to meeting. He not only takes professional photos but is also a tour guide in Japan on the side! When we were walking in Kyoto he was providing us past history on Zen Temples, Shrines, past and present lifestyle in Kyoto. Halfway through the photo shoot he asked us if we wanted to take a taxi ride to another area that has more Cherry Blossoms Trees and Temples for photos. We both looked at each other and said “Yes.” The extra landscape and different background photos were worth it. Coo also showed us an area where the bathrooms are in case either one of us needed to go. We were able to see different types of cherry blossoms in the new areas. He asked us near the end of either one of us were religious. He then explained the shrine that was beside us where you can complete a prayer to the shrine for good luck and make a wish(es). We both said “Yes”. We both felt it was more spiritual than religious and continued with the photoshoot. He took some great photos of us completing the ceremony while instructed us on how to correctly complete it. All in all it was a magical and unique experience I will never forget and highly recommend to any couple, family or friends who want to capture the beauty and memories of Japan together.

First off, we were extremely excited to do a photo shoot in Kyoto because of the heritage and stunning scenery which exists all over the city! Coo and Yurika were our first choice when it came finding a photographer because this was a very special shoot for us since I was going to be proposing! Coo and Yurika took the time to coordinate all the details with us before our arrival to Japan to ensure they knew exactly the format and types of shots we were looking for. We were able to discuss the details with them directly and they were both very responsive when it came to any questions we had. The key is to start early because of the crowds and they coordinated the meeting time, what was to be expected during the shoot, and even what it would take to move from one location to another. This being one of our first times hiring a photographer, I would do it again in a heartbeat. They were extremely professional and made sure to show us how the photos were coming out as the shoot went on. They even took the time to ensure we had captured all the moments we wanted before we stopped for the day! It was such an amazing and memorable experience having Coo capture/shoot such a special moment. Coo is compassionate and SO helpful. From the moment I reached out, he answered my questions timely and thoroughly and provided recommendations of incredible places to shoot in Japan based on how I envisioned the proposal. Initially the shoot was supposed to happen at the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest but I thought it may get crowded and it may be really dark in the early hours of the morning. So Coo assisted in recommending another location that was so serene, beautiful, and peaceful. When we arrived at the spot, Coo was already there, prepared and ready to go. He even knew the best areas around the location so that we can take numerous photos in addition to the proposal ones.
