Words cannot express how happy I am with my engagement pictures. My fiancé proposed to me during our trip in Japan, and while there I decided we should take our engagement photos, what better souvenir to bring back home! We were a bit apprehensive at first because of the language barrier but it turned out there was no issue. When looking through the website, there are number of photographers to choose from but Coo and Yurika’s photo portfolio caught my attention. Their work was so clean and the editing style for their photos was amazing. We then reached out and explained that we were interested in an outdoor photoshoot to capture the beauty of Japan and was not disappointed. Coo was so kind in answering all our questions and adjusting to our requests. When the day came to take our photos, he was there early and ready to work even if it was cold outside since we went in December. We introduced ourselves and Coo asked us our expectations for the photoshoot and if we had any poses in mind. We let him know it was our first time taking professional photos and was not sure what to expect. I’m usually not a fan of having my picture taken but I told him I trusted his work, and he did not fail us! I loved the way he had us posing and all the spots he took us too, we were even able to catch some colored leaves in our background. We were comfortable enough to express ourselves, to the point that I wanted to cry every moment from how happy I was to marry the love of my life. Coo was so kind, encouraging, and communicative during the shoot and while walking from place to place. There was no issue in communicating, Coo spoke English amazingly. We also were able to receive our photos earlier than expected which was blessing and so grateful for. We were so excited to come home and show everyone our photos. Everyone that has seen them so far has been left speechless and complimented our photos so much. When they ask us who took our photos, we are very proud to tell them Coo and Yurika. Thank you both again for capturing our special moment, it is truly unforgettable and unique experience.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Coo during my engagement in Kyoto. My fiancé David and I booked Coo for our engagement photo session in Japan, and we were completely blown away by both the final photos and the entire experience. But we didn’t expect just how much he would go above and beyond to make our photo session perfect. During the planning phase, Coo was incredibly responsive and thoughtful. We really wanted sakura (cherry blossom) trees in our photos, and since it wasn’t peak blooming season, he suggested shooting with Kawazu-zakura, an early-blooming variety in a place I couldn’t find online. Not only did he bring us to a beautiful location, but during the planning phase he also gave us multiple options for back-up settings in case of bad weather. I recently had the pleasure of working with Coo for a surprise engagement shoot while visiting Kyoto and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Since I was coming from California I was a bit nervous on how I was going to plan this but Coo made the entire process incredibly smooth. Coo speaks English which made the communication easy during booking and the photo shoot. He gave me a clear and detailed plan on what to expect when we arrived at the location which helped calm my nerves. He showed up early and blended into the area so naturally that my fiancée had to idea what was about to happen. He asked if he could take some pictures of us since he was an amateur photographer and was practicing taking pictures. The shoot itself was relaxed and very enjoyable. He gave us clear directions on how to pose without making it feel awkward or forced. The photos were delivered quickly and they came out absolutely stunning. To top it all off, after I booked with him he sent me a list of food recommendations for multiple cities in Japan which made finding a place to eat easier. After the shoot I asked him for restaurant recommendations in the area and he happily recommended more restaurants. It was a small detail but it really shows how much he cares about the experience he provides. If you’re looking for a photographer in Japan I highly recommend you book with Coo!
