We had an early morning couple photoshoot with Coo along the Philosopher’s Path in Kyoto, and he was fantastic. He was professional, easy to talk to and made us feel comfortable. A few months ago, after reviewing several photographers in Japan, I chose to reach out to Coo to inquire about having engagement/couple photos taken in Kyoto during 11/2024. He responded to me promptly within less than 24 hours and then we connected via WhatsApp. All I was able to tell Coo was that I wanted some photos at the Hokan-ji temple and he was able to form a plan to begin there and then move on to several other beautiful locations within walking distance. Not only did he send google map pins/directions for each location, he even sent me a long list of restaurant recommendations for Kyoto, Tokyo and Osaka. On the morning of the photo session, Coo sent me his location and a selfie which made locating him quick and easy. Throughout our session Coo was very conversive, personable, kind, patient, pleasant and positive. We felt comfortable with him from the beginning. He was also kind enough to look at pictures of couples poses I had found online and he helped us incorporate those into our session. He was happy to answer questions we had about Japan’s culture as well as share information on his own. Before we parted ways, we were craving Curry and Coo recommended what ended up being a delicious, authentic curry restaurant within walking distance. We received our photos within just a few days. Based on Coo’s work I’d seen online, I knew I would like the photos. But while my fiance and I viewed the photos we were in awe at how beautiful they were. We LOVED them. We discussed how impressed we were with not only the photo quality/editing, but also Coo’s creativity in choosing locations and angles. Ultimately we were more happy and excited than we had expected to be. We ended up choosing 3 photos (because we could not choose just one) to put on our Save the Date cards. If we ever return to Japan and want photos made again, we will absolutely be reaching out to Coo again!!! 🙂 Thank you so much, Coo !!!

From the start, Coo prioritized communication and the vision we wanted for our couple shoot. Despite the rainy days leading up to our shoot, he reached out to switch days so we could have sunny weather! That made all the difference and waking up at 6am made it all worth it. With his experience, he took us to each location and was able to explain some history and facts. He even matched some poses and shots I wanted from my moodboard. He even takes a bunch of iPhone photos while shooting so we can have some to look at right away! Our itinerary is planned from the start, however we got to shoot in one of the brand new Starbucks that made it so serene and catered the shoot to our likes! The shoot went by so fast and happy how the images turned out.
